The Scale Series
Ever since I was a young child, I have had a passion for trains. Something about their history, purpose, freedom, power and size, led me to respect trains in a way many other kids at the time, did not. While some kids did marvel at the engines and locomotives, I marveled at the traveling canvas and story told on each side of every car that passed. Graffiti on trains often reflects a blend of personal style and cultural commentary, utilizing the train's movement and visibility to amplify its message. The trains themselves, as symbols of industry and progress, provide a stark contrast to the vibrant and often subversive nature of the graffiti. This juxtaposition highlights themes of urban decay and renewal, as well as the tension between official and unofficial art forms.
